Hey Balance Fam,
Without the usual day-to-day distractions, and the unknown of what’s next, it can feel like you’re constantly navigating the waters of your mind and feelings. We’re here to remind you that you’re not alone, and to offer perspectives to help overcome this all, together.
A seasoned surfer knows which waves will serve them best. If they attempt to ride every single wave that passes by, their energy will be so depleted that finding the endurance to successfully seek out and ride the waves that are optimal to surf will become increasingly difficult.
In these current times of uncertainty, bringing on waves of different emotions each day, it’s important to tune into your mind the way a surfer does the ocean. Recognize each wave as it rolls toward you, and make that decision if it’s worth riding out.
As we all follow the current stay at home order, it’s only natural to have moments of irritability, stress, and boredom. But that’s what they are, and should be: moments.
When you focus all of your energy on these negative emotional moments, they fester into negative emotional days. Then you’re left with that mental exhaustion, unable to find the energy to recognize the good—even when it’s right in front of you.
You can’t control which waves will roll toward you, but it is up to you, and only you, to choose which wave to ride. Choose to let those negative waves pass. But those waves that are feeling just right? Those are the ones you paddle toward, embrace, and ride.
Open your mind and heart to the positivity within you, and be relentless in seeking out the positive that is all around you.

It is our mission to continue spreading positivity, because no matter what wave of life we are currently facing, it is the good that will keep us going. It’s time we all take a little bit of energy to focus inward, embrace some self-love, and encourage others to do the same.
