Hey Balance Fam,
Do you ever second guess yourself because of what others may think?
Or question the actions you’re taking because, at your core, you know it’s not really “you”?
Are you giving all of your positive energy to those around you, only to find yourself drained at the end of the day?
If you’re feeling like you’re leaning too much on external responses rather than your inner peace–we feel you. We’ve all been there. But here’s the thing: we don’t need to stay there.
Self-esteem, self-worth, self-support, self-care - we’re all familiar with each of these terms, but what they all have in common is that they’re all rooted in self-love.
In order to be and feel our absolute best, we must give ourselves what we need to achieve. Simply put, we must make loving ourselves a priority in order to give love to others.
Self-love is going to be different for everyone. Which is why it’s important to reflect and get to know your true self, stay in tune with what fills your heart and away from what drains your energy.
With so many components to self-love, the hardest part may be just figuring out where to start.
If knowledge is power, just imagine the unstoppable force of self-knowledge: the power to create positive change and have the life you really want.
Self knowledge is important in understanding who you are and why you operate as you do. When you take the time to understand your character, actions, and motives, you gain confidence in the decisions you’re making, because you know they’re going to do nothing but benefit your happiness despite what others may think. THEN you have the ability to make life happen for you instead of life just happening to you.
Now that you’ve established what’s important to you, there’s no longer a need for approval from those that don’t know you the way YOU know you. Instead of looking at yourself through the eyes of others, live your life for you. Why would you live according to their values when you know, and are living, your own? Once you rid your life of any comparisons and expectations, you will begin to live a life you truly value.
No one should be rooting for you more than you. Be your #1 fan and cheer for yourself every single day. While it’s important to reflect on where we can improve, it’s even more important to recognize where we currently excel–and celebrate those parts of ourselves. Instill the strength, beauty, and light that exists within yourself and you will bring forward that same energy upon others.
When you take the time to find your true sense of self-love, your energy will also begin to inspire others to seek self-love within themselves.
